Every project has a different scope. The steps below describe our general approach to design and development projects. The stages and deliverables depend on the service selected. For ongoing work such as SEO and advertising management, the cycle of planning, implementation and review is adapted to the agreed service scope.
Clarifying your needs
We discuss your business, your audience and the problem you want the project to solve. If you have an existing website, content or systems, we include them in the initial review.
What this stage delivers: Priority objectives, a requirements list and outstanding questions.
What we need from you: Your current website or systems, relevant examples and business objectives.
Scope and proposal
We define pages or screens, functionality, integrations and content responsibilities. Licences, hosting and other external service fees are considered separately from the project fee.
What this stage delivers: A deliverables list, project schedule and clearly scoped proposal.
What we need from you: Agreement on scope, budget and who will make decisions.
Design and approval
We start with information architecture and the main user journeys. As the visual design develops, we consider mobile usability and content hierarchy together.
What this stage delivers: An approved page structure and design direction.
What we need from you: Content and consolidated feedback on the designs.
Development and review
We turn the approved design into working pages or applications. We test forms, links, user roles and the agreed integrations against practical scenarios.
What this stage delivers: A working version to review and a testing checklist.
What we need from you: Access to test systems and feedback on the workflows.
Launch and handover
Our launch plan covers the domain, hosting, access and redirects from existing URLs where needed. We complete training and account handover in line with the agreed scope.
What this stage delivers: The live solution and agreed handover files.
What we need from you: Final approval and confirmation of account ownership details.
Development after launch
We define support, maintenance and improvements separately from the initial handover. User feedback and measurement data help prioritise new requirements.
What this stage delivers: An agreed support scope and next steps.
What we need from you: Feedback on day-to-day use and any new requirements.
How do we manage the project schedule and scope changes?
The schedule reflects the scope, content readiness, integrations and approval times. Changes, such as adding a feature after design approval, are reviewed first. They become part of the scope only once their impact on timing and budget is clear.
